Yes - I am fat and out of shape... and I am tired of it.
What am I doing about it? I have made a commitment to do something about it and making it public - gives me more incentive to stick with it. If I talk about it and people can follow, maybe I can actually do it this time!! Plus I have a little two year old I keep looking at and thinking "Man I need to do something if I want to keep up with her".
So what have I done? I have created a system for ME - it's probably not the best for everybody, or the most in depth, but it's good enough for me to use.
1. Get a pair of new running shoes - Now normally I could care less about what I put on my feet, but this time I really wanted to do something - If I get an expensive pair of shoes and they just sit there, I will be upset I spent the money... See my new Nike Shox running shoes to the right:
2. Pull out the bike for the bad weather times (and for times when other things keep me from going outside and walking (soon running I hope) and make it available to use. We have an bike that normally just sits there, but now it is up and going as of tonight. This was a chore cause it was pushed to the back of the garage (we just moved) so it had to be pulled out, cleaned up (from lack of use) and put back together.
3. Make it geeky somehow... How? Get my Tablet PC involved! I made some stuff in OneNote 2007 to fit the bill. You can see it's not that high tech or detailed, but if I do that, I will set myself up to fail. Do it my own way, maybe it will work.
As you can see, I am tipping the scales at about 252.6 pounds!! I have never been that big!! And I don't want to be... And I am going to do something about it!!! I will keep everybody updated of my progress!!! I hope for about 30 pounds - if it goes well, maybe more!!
